The REM to YUL Airport: What to Know

When the REM will reach Montreal-Trudeau (YUL), and how to get to the airport in the meantime.

The REM Airport Connection (Coming ~2027)

The REM light rail will connect Montreal-Trudeau (YUL) directly to downtown once the airport station opens, which is expected around 2027. That station is still under construction. Until it opens, the 747 express bus is the main public-transit link between the airport and downtown, running 24 hours a day.

Fares and Payment

When the REM airport station opens, it will use the regional ARTM fare system, payable with an OPUS card or a contactless tap. For now, the 747 bus costs $11.25, which doubles as a 24-hour pass on the metro, REM, and exo trains in Zone A.

Tips for Travelers

Until the airport REM station opens, take the 747 bus from outside the terminal, or a taxi (a flat $49.45 to downtown). When the REM link launches, all its stations are fully accessible with elevators and level boarding, which helps with luggage. Check the latest opening date before you rely on the REM for an airport trip.
